Mrs Shaw will commence her maternity leave at the end of next week. Mrs Cara Lanyi and Miss Renee Horton will take over the class for the remaining five weeks. We wish Mrs Shaw and her husband all the very best in the led up to the birth of their first child and look forward to the important announcement before the end of the school year.
Vehicle movement around the school is once again becoming an issue. In particular, the locations that parents and other guardians are exiting children around the school, especially on the road outside the school. If you can’t park your car in an appropriate parking bay, then you should either find a more suitable location to park further away from the school or use the "pick up" and "drop off" line. Dropping off outside the Tyler Street gates is not acceptable, especially when the "pick up" line is around the corner.
Parking in disabled bays continues to be an issue, as this car stopped one of our parents from using the only disabled bay on Cape Street.
These bays are there for a reason, not the use of drivers who want to park in the closest location to the school. Please be considerate of those who have to use the bays out of necessity, not convenience.
Work will commence soon on renovations at Servite College that will necessitate the gate between Servite and St Kieran being closed for at least until mid-2020. This will result in only the middle gates being available to drop off collect students through the "pick up" and "drop off” line. The preferred entry for everyone else will be the Tyler Street gates.
I understand that this will cause inconvenience for some people and I request your patience and understanding during this time. I also request your vigilance in ensuring that you do everything possible to keep all children safe whilst this work is in progress.
With budget information being received by the school in the past few weeks, we will be returning the AGM of the School Board at the end of November this year. The date will be Tuesday 26 November starting at 7 pm.
As the first official meeting of Kieran Connect occurred this Tuesday the committee will continue through into 2020.
The AGM will deliver the school’s financial information for 2019 and the projected budget for 2020. There will also be three positions on the board available and we will send out nomination forms next week for those who wish to offer their talents and expertise to the board for the next two years. If you are wanting to know more about the board and its role then please come and speak with a member of the leadership team or our current chair, Chelsea Lim.
Have a great weekend!

On Monday 21st October, eight of our very talented students were selected to represent St Kieran at the 2019 Junior Academic da Vinci Decathlon.
This was held at the University of WA in the beautiful Winthrop Hall.
It was an exciting and challenging day which demanded excellent team work and the ability to address complex academic tasks.
Our team was wonderful, taking on every challenge with enthusiasm and attention.
We were very proud of their achievements and their determination to give every task their best efforts.
They competed against 20 other schools and although not all the results are in yet, they ranked very well in a number of areas.
Congratulations to Natalie Poga, Grace D’Arcy, Joshua Fazari, Maya Lorenzetto, Milana Miceli, Peter Pham, Abigail Boni and Olivia Mackey.
Mr Hort and Mrs Stanford.
The Year 5 students got to taste the harvest from our Veggie Patch this week!
It was wonderful to see the students so excited about broccoli!!
