Welcome back to all of our parents, guardians, children, families and staff for the 2019 school year and a huge welcome to all of our new families.
We welcome our new staff for this year. Mrs Sacha Doepel our new Assistant Principal, Ms Amanda Oregioni in Yr 6 and Ms Magda Escandon who is with us in Yr Two for Term 1 whilst Mrs Day is on sick leave.
We are still in the midst of the building program that we expect to progress quite quickly from here. It will mean that we will not be having assemblies for at least a few weeks until we can organise the hall upstairs and relocate the library back downstairs. There has been an enormous amount of work completed on the school over the holidays that will hopefully make the school a safer and more enjoyable experience for our children and parents.
SCHOOL BOARD AND P&F AGM
We will hold our AGM of the School Board and P&F at 5:30 pm at the Welcome Back Picnic. All reports will be posted beforehand and all the meeting will encompass will be tabling of reports, any questions and an election of office bearers for the Board and P&F if required. It is anticipated that this should take approx 15-20 minutes. By holding our AGM at this event it will allow for more involvement from our parent body.
There are 4 places available on the School Board with three current members not renominating for their positions. So we are certainly on the lookout for interested parents or other family members who wish to help shape the direction of the school and who have a skillset in either finance, building, marketing or just a keen interesting the time in helping build the future of St Kieran. The P&F also have 5 nominations available as all positions annually are vacated.
Anyone interested in either position can speak to with Sally Hart, Sacha Doepel or myself about what the position will entail or either a current School Board or P&F member. If you are interested then please nominate either yourself or have someone nominate you to one of these positions. You can find these nominations forms here.
We expect school fees to be sent out either next week or early Week 3. If your current financial situation has changed it would be greatly appreciated if you can organise a meeting with myself to discuss your situation. Please understand that all discussions will be treated confidentially.
If you need to contact your classroom teacher you can either email them at their school email address or contact the school admin at firstname.lastname@example.org and request a callback or an interview. Your teacher has already sent you several emails and I would request that you save their address in case you need to make direct contact with them.
Please note that all information regarding absences, medical needs or changes to normal pick up must be forwarded to the admin email account or phoned through. Please do not send these through to your child’s teacher as they are not always able to find time in their day to check emails accept at breaks or at the end of the day or they may be away sick or on offsite training. Our admin email and phone are always checked regularly during the day and all relevant information will be passed on as soon as possible.
Please keep Friday 22 Feb free for the welcome back picnic. And good luck to our Year 6 students who will attend camp this coming week, we hope you have a fantastic time away.
Have a great weekend!
