Principal News
With the recent information from the state government that Phase Five Guidelines would not be put in the place until at least 24 October we will now have to re-assess current practices in place regarding a number of areas of operation. This has impacted on planning for both our sports carnival and the make a move dance concert later this term. We have implemented a number of changes to the faction carnival to allow for as much participation as possible, which are detailed further in the newsletter. As we make these changes we will communicate these through as quickly and as best we can.
Friday (21/8/20) is listed as the Catholic Day, which is an extra day of leave given to all Catholic School staff and which has been in place for a number of years. Our PD day on Monday (24/8/20) will focus on aspects of our strategic direction for 2021 and the upskilling of staff using the Office365 environment.
In our last newsletter we requested parents to provide this feedback on the school uniform. As of this moment we received less than 40 responses which makes it quite difficult to make an informed judgement on whether change is warranted or if we maintain the status quo. We will keep this survey open for a few more weeks so we can get a better understanding of the situation with our current supplier.
I was advised last Friday that Mrs Johnston, our music teacher has resigned from Keyed Up Music effective immediately and will be taking another role at a school much closer to her home. We would like to acknowledge Mrs Johnston for her enthusiasm for the music program and the performing arts. We will seek a replacement as soon as possible and will continue the music program with a relief staff member until this process has been completed.
Have a great weekend.
