Thank you for your ongoing support during these current difficult times, especially around the dropping off and picking up of students at the beginning and end of each day. I would like to clarify a few things regarding pick up as the drop off procedures seem to be working effectively at the moment.

Walking and picking your child up
Please drop off  outside the Ciaran Centre (Tyler Street gate entry) Do not enter the pickup line as this has the potential to be dangerous, with children crossing the driveway. It adds extra children to an area that is close to capacity and it also slows the pickup line down. This is the safest option for any parent picking up their child while on foot. 

Children who are to be picked up by parents who have parked and are walking should do so through the Tyler St gates from 3:00pm to 3:15pm. These children will be waiting outside the Ciaran Centre. If you have not already done so, can you please advise the office in writing at admin@stkieran.wa.edu.au that you will be collecting your children via the walk-in option,this will ensure your children are waiting in the correct location. 

Please remember that parking out the front of the school is specifically for families for students with a disability so please find suitable alternative arrangements.

Drive through pickup line (Morgan Street)
Parents who are using the pickup line on Morgans Street, need to display your name tag supplied by the office. This significantly speeds up the process of knowing who to call next. If the name tag can be held up or displayed in the windscreen when in the pick up line, you will be assisting the speediness of this process. Please ensure you inform other family members or friends who do pick up. If you have misplaced your name tag, you can always make your own.

Ensure that you join the pick up line along Tyler Street Only. Turning right into the pickup line on Morgan St causes those waiting to be disgruntled as someone else has jumped in ahead of them. 

Don’t use mobile phones in the pickup line. This request is self-explanatory.

Don’t come too early! The first student is being placed into a vehicle at 3pm to the last student at 3:30pm. During these 30 minutes, we are moving over 240 students and can only deal with approximately six cars at a time so patience and choosing the right time to attend pick up is key.

Keep entries and driveways to private property clear and follow staff directions.

The following continue to apply:
Kindergarten will continue to be dropped off via drive through in the Morgans Street Line each morning from 8.20am - 8:50am each morning. Late arrivals will need to come through the front office. Kindergarten pickup to continue from 2:30pm - 2:50pm each Wednesday - Friday. Those who have made alternative arrangements will continue unless you notify us otherwise.

New procedure for 3YO Kindy program will continue, Entry and Exit via the Cape Street Gates.

Students with a disability will continue to park at the front of the school (Tyler Street) and drop off at the Ciaran Centre. Afternoon pickup will remain the same.

PLEASE NOTE
If you are picking up your child early from school for an appointment at the end of the day, you will need to do so before 2:15 pm. Please advise the admin office prior to ensure that your child is waiting for you. This is due to the lack of parking availability around the school at this time.

These processes will continue while we remain in Phase 4 Restrictions. Once these have been lifted, we will revise the procedures to outline the options available to parents.
