Principal News
Class lists for 2020 have now been sent out. A full list of the teaching staff for next year is included below.
You will notice a new teacher, Miss Courtney Mowatt who joins us from St Matthew's in Narrogin. She is an early year's trained teacher who will work in Year Two in 2020. Miss Ramirez will be with us in various teaching roles in Semester One whilst staff take LSL. Mrs Hart and Mrs Doepel will be moving back to classrooms each Monday and Tuesday and will share the classroom roles with Mrs Behiels and Mrs Lanyi. Mrs Matsen will continue her support role in 2020 and will partner with Mrs Day in Year Five.
We have one staff member who is leaving us at the end of the school year, Ms Loreto Brennan. Ms Brennan has been a part of our school community for the past 12 ½ years. She is a no-fuss, outstanding individual who epitomises the Making Jesus Real motto in her daily interactions with a multitude of students who need extra support and who she has worked with over her time in our school. As is her way, she has asked for a quiet finish to her time at St Kieran but we need to acknowledge her commitment to our school and community over her many years of service. We wish her all the best for the future.
I would also like to take the opportunity to thank a number of people who without their support and work ethic, our school would be a much poorer place.
Thanks for 2019
2019, like many years, has been extremely busy. There are a number of people that need to be acknowledged. Firstly our office staff, Mrs Crowley, Mrs Davini, Mrs Longo, Ms Wyss, Ms Climo and Mrs Monzu who left in the middle of the year. The front office is St Kieran is one of the busiest offices that you can come across in a primary school and each day, three of these ladies ensure everything is done to help keep the school running.
To our teacher assistants, who each day work so closely with our children, many who without their dedicated support, would not be able to access the curriculum. Your work is appreciated and valued. To our other support staff Mr Deegala, Mr Papalia and Mr Velasquez who behind the scenes ensure that the school continues to tick along and who ensure that we have the tools and facilities to work with each day.
Our teaching staff have worked extremely well this year and have fully implemented the Talk 4 Writing program across our school, which has benefited all of our students. We appreciate their hard work and their efforts to improve the learning of each child in their care.
A very big thank you to Mrs Brown, Mrs Hart and Mrs Doepel whose efforts across the school each day keep this very complex and diverse school community working effectively, efficiently and with real heart. We are very fortunate to have wonderful staff who truly care for the children in their care.
Thank you to all board members, members of the Kieran Connect parents group, Centenary Committee, Year 6 Graduation committee and all those who assisted on excursions, in the classroom during the year as parent help or in assisting with cooking, cleaning or just being an extra pair of hands. You are the true lifeblood of our community and make it a place where children learn to grow and thrive.
To all of those families, especially those who have been with us for an extended period of time, who leave us at the end of this year we wish you well in your new locations.
I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very safe, holy and joy-filled Christmas. May you get to share this special time with those you love and care for.
