Principal News
Lord Jesus Christ,
bless the children coming forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time.
May this day be the step toward to a life-long love of the Eucharist.
Give them a hunger for this sacred food so that they turn to you for comfort,
guidance, and wisdom as they grow into full discipleship.
Thank you for their innocence and goodness.
May their hands, extended in anticipation of your body and blood,
inspire all of us to cherish this sacred Sacrament.
Amen.
His disciples said to him, ‘Where do you want us to go and make the preparations for you to eat the Passover?’ [Mark 14:12] Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it to the disciples.
‘Take it and eat,’ he said, ‘this is my body.’
Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he handed it to them saying, ‘Drink from this, all of you, for this is my blood, the blood of the covenant, poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
After the psalms had been sung they left for the Mount of Olives. [Matthew 26:26-30]
Receiving Jesus for the first time is a very special occasion. First Eucharist or more colloquially First Holy Communion is a key step in the initiation of a person into the community of the church. The whole St Kieran Parish Community comes together to celebrate with family and friends to welcome the new communicant, the person receiving Communion.
First Holy Communion is the beginning of a special journey of a lifelong connection and friendship with Jesus. When people receive Jesus in the Eucharist he nourishes and strengthens them to live good catholic lives. The word ‘communion’ means to be united with someone. We as Catholics believe that in Holy Communion people are united in a special way with Jesus. This is a relationship that we get to develop and grow as we form our connection with Jesus.
Holy Communion is a special time that we can celebrate with our families and friends, and as the St Kieran community, I am sure we can join together to wish all of our communicants, the very best, over the next two weekends as they receive the sacrament for the first time.
Wishing you all the best.
Regards
Daine Burnett

Parent TV
One of the initiatives from Kieran Connect this year is to support our community and especially our parents who have this really hard task of 'parenting' - we know there is no rule book on this! Parent TV is an online resource that we will send out through our Facebook and to parents which have 2-4minute videos from experts on how to deal with all facets of parenting from the '2s' to anxiety, behaviour, talking to children and even some tips on teenagers.
This is just a resource and information that you may find beneficial or useful at home and lets be honest if we get one tip that works then it is a good tip!
Thank you to Kieran Connect for funding this and providing this to our families and friends.
Keep an eye out for information that comes through and let us know your thoughts as the year unfolds.
Transmissible Disease
We ask that all parents to let the school Administration know as soon as possible when their children have a highly contagious illness. Your childs identity will remain confidential.
It is important that we are informed so that we can communicate this to the St Kieran community. Please refer to the WA Department of Health Communicable Disease Guidelines

After School Pick Up Arrangements
Just a reminder that if St Kieran students are waiting for siblings from Servite to come and collect them, they must wait in the undercover area. Servite siblings are asked to walk in via the Tyler Street gates as all pedestrians do. Students will be supervised in the undercover until 3.30pm and if they are not collected by then, they will wait in the front office for collection.
