Principal's Message
Dear God
Grant me the gifts of the Holy Spirit, so that I can serve as a disciple of Christ.
Fill me with wisdom, understanding, and counsel, so I can make right choices and know what to do.
Strengthen me with courage, knowledge, and reverence, so I can live my faith with confidence.
Envelop me in the gift of wonder and awe, so I may stand in awe of your presence.
Fan into flame the gifts I received in my Baptism and Confirmation.
May my actions witness to your presence in my life.
Amen.
Welcome Back to Term Four!
I hope that everyone in our St Kieran community had a restful and joyful break. As we begin this new term, we look forward to a term filled with learning, growth, and celebration.
As their preparation time comes to a close, we invite our school community to keep our Year 6 students in their prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on the weekend of 25 and 26 October. This is a significant step in their faith journey, as they receive the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit and embrace their role as mature members of the Church.
Confirmation is not just a ceremony—it is a deep and personal commitment to live out the values of our faith with courage, wisdom, and love. Thank you to Ms Lanyi, Miss Mallen, and Mrs Evans for their dedication and care in preparing our students for this special occasion. Their guidance has helped nurture the spiritual growth of each child, and we are truly grateful.
We also celebrate our Year 5 students as they embark on their leadership journey, beginning with an exciting overnight camp at school. This experience marks the start of their transition into student leadership roles, where they will learn about responsibility, teamwork, and service to others. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Hayes and Mr Peletier for supporting and encouraging our students as they take these first steps. Their commitment to fostering leadership and character in our young learners is deeply appreciated.
Term Four is a time of celebration and reflection at St Kieran, as we honour the journey of our students throughout the year. Our Early Childhood and new students have completed their first year with joy and growth, while our Year 6s prepare to farewell their primary school years, leaving behind a legacy of leadership and friendship. The excitement of swimming lessons and the anticipation of our End of Year Christmas Concert add to the festive spirit. As we celebrate a year filled with learning, laughter, and community, let us take the time to reflect, appreciate one another, and enjoy the moments that make St Kieran such a special place to learn and grow.
Take care and stay safe.

Annual Community Meeting
Our Annual Community Meeting will be held on Wednesday 20th November at 5pm in the Upper Learning Area. This will be a combination of the School Advisory and Kieran Connect Meeting's.
The School Advisory Committee operates under the Terms of Reference, and these are listed on our school website. As a School Advisory Council, we continue to look to support our school values and those of CEWA. If you ever have any questions regarding the School Advisory Council please contact Mr Burnett.
School Playground and Play Equipment
For the safety of all children, we kindly remind families that students are not to use the school playground equipment before or after school. During these times, staff are not on duty and unable to supervise, which increases the risk of accidents or injury. We appreciate your support in helping us keep everyone safe.
Traffic Crossing - Crosswalk Attendant
If any of our families or community members would like to explore the possibility of becoming a Cross Walk Attendant please make contact with the office and we can direct you down the correct path for training and further information.
Students Leaving St Kieran
Can you please let the school know as soon as possible if your child/children are moving on from St Kieran in 2026. This only applies to students who are leaving St Kieran.
FREE Public Workshop - Online Safety - eSafe Kids presenter Ms Kaylene Kerr
"Society is only just beginning to realise the scale and nature of harm being done to our children. This is a public health crisis we can no longer afford to ignore. Children’s unrestricted access to pornography can, and must be addressed. Perhaps this is the child protection issue of our time."
- Kayelene Kerr eSafeKids Founder 2016 -
I can't believe I said this almost ten years ago!
The Australian eSafety Commissioner has recently registered the final 6 of 9 industry drafted codes which aim to create safeguards to protect Australian children from pornography, violent content, themes of suicide, self-harm, disordered eating and AI chatbots and companions.
On Monday the 27th of October 2025 in partnership with the Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs Inc I'm presenting a free, open to the public Talking About Primary School Aged Children & Pornography Workshop. This will be my last open to the public workshop for this year. Please share with friends, family and colleagues who may benefit.
"Parents, carers, educators and professionals play a key role in supporting children to develop the social, emotional and relational skills needed to have safe, positive and respectful experiences, including navigating pornography’s influence. If we don’t educate children the internet, peers, pop-ups, porn, predators other people, including unsafe people will fill the void."
- Kayelene Kerr eSafeKids Founder 2019 -
Overdue Library Books
Any students with overdue library books will have been sent home notice of this over the end of last term. Can you please have a really good search and return these as soon as possible.
Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is a vital step in a young person's faith journey, deepening their relationship with God and affirming their commitment to the teachings of the Church. Through Confirmation, students receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, empowering them to live out their faith with courage, wisdom, and love. It is a joyful celebration of growth, responsibility, and belonging within the Catholic community.
Here is some important information for your child's Confirmation.

Sacrament of Confirmation Masses Sat October 25 and Sun October 26
MSP Photographers will be available in the Parish Hall on the days of the Sacrament, one hour before each Mass begins. Enter via the door on Cape Street. The photographer will also take photos during the Sacrament, so we ask families not to take photos during Mass.
Students will be asked to sit on the end of a pew, down the centre aisle and the aisle to the side. They will not be allocated a specific seat. Each Mass will have between 32-35 students receiving the Sacrament. This means the church will be very full and there will be limited space for additional family and friends. Please keep this in mind when inviting guests. You may wish to invite guests to attend your own family celebration after the Sacrament.
Sign of the Week
Learning one Auslan sign a week is a simple but powerful way to increase our awareness and inclusion at St. Kieran. By committing to learning just one sign each week, we break down barriers and build empathy. It reminds us to be more mindful of accessibility and gives us the tools to connect with more people. Over time, these small efforts add up, leading to greater fluency and a more inclusive environment for everyone.
