Principal's Message
All Saints Prayer
Lord,
as the saints in Heaven adore You for eternity,
I beg for their intercession.
Saints of God, please come to my aide.
Pray for me and bring to me the grace I need,
to live a holy life in imitation of your own lives.
All saints of God, pray for us.
Jesus, I trust in You.
Amen.
This week we honoured those holy men and women who have gone before us in faith and have done so in a glorious way. As we honour these great champions of faith, let’s reflect upon who they are and what role they continue to play in the life of the Church.
Those who have gone before us and now share in the glories of Heaven, in the Beatific Vision, are not gone. Sure, we do not see them and we cannot necessarily hear them speak to us in the physical way they did while on Earth. But they are not gone at all. St. Thérèse of Lisieux said it best when she said, “I want to spend my Heaven doing good on Earth.”
The saints in Heaven are in full union with God and make up the Communion of Saints in Heaven, the Church Triumphant! What’s important to note, however, is that even though they are enjoying their eternal reward, they are still very much concerned about us.
The saints in Heaven are entrusted with the important task of intercession. Sure, God already knows all our needs and He could ask us to go directly to Him in our prayers. But the truth is that God wants to use the intercession, and therefore, the mediation of the saints in our lives. He uses them to bring our prayers to Him and, in return, to bring His grace to us. They become powerful intercessors for us and participators in God’s divine action in the world.
The saints also give us a model of holiness. The charity they lived on Earth lives on. The witness of their love and sacrifice was not just a one time act in history. Rather, charity is living and continues to have an effect for the good. Therefore, the charity and witness of the saints lives on and affects our lives. This charity in their lives creates a bond with us, a communion. It enables us to love them, admire them and want to follow their example. It is this, coupled with their continuing intercession, that establishes a powerful bond of love and union with us. Taken from: My Catholic Faith!
I hope the week has been good to you all.
Best wishes and take care.

Calendar
A reminder to all families to continue to check the school calendar on our website for dates and events that are coming up during the term. We conclude the school year on Friday 6th December.
Contact Details - Parents
It is imperative that parents and families update the school when your personal details change during the year. If you change your email address or mobile phone please ensure that the school administration is contacted so we can update these details for communication purposes.
School Fees
A reminder to all families that school fees are due and that if for any reason you are falling behind you need to make an appointment with the school principal to address these and the payments required.
Kindy Orientation Morning
On Monday the 4th November we will be welcoming our new Kindy classes to St Kieran as they spend time in the ECE Area and in the classrooms as part of their familiarisation for 2025. We also look forward to welcoming their wonderful families as the begin this journey with us at St Kieran.
Kieran Connect 2025
Kieran Connect have had a very successful year in 2024 with our planned events including; the Family Welcome event, the Mothers and Fathers Day Breakfasts and our upcoming end of year student events. These events are testimony to the amazing efforts of our Committee members and our Parent Class Reps. In order to help ensure continued success we are seeking parents interested in joining the Kieran Connect Committee for 2025.
We understand that everyone is busy and time is precious, so we can assure you that it won't be a big ask, however we can confirm it will be a rewarding experience. Please contact Mr Burnett for further information - daine.burnett@cewa.edu.au
Cross-Walk: Crossing Cape Street
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety of our students travelling to and from school, we would like to remind everyone to use the Cross Walk supervised by the WA Police appointed Cross Walk attendant at St Kieran Church.
Cape Street is particularly busy, and using the designated Cross Walk is paramount to everyone’s safety. Let’s work together to keep our children safe by following this important guideline.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Parking
We again need to remind parents about parking at St Kieran, unfortunately this seems to be an ongoing concern and while many families do the right thing for everyone it continues to create frustrations for many. The school staff do not have the legal ability to enforce parent driving behaviours, however if you are putting a child at risk by not following our very simple instructions we will follow up with you and address this.
- DO NOT turn right into the Kiss and Drive - please wait your turn in the queue.
- Do NOT overtake the queue and push in front of the Kiss and Drive line. Be respectful of others.
- Keep the Corner of Tyler Street and Morgans Street free from all traffic.
- DO NOT pick up or drop your child off on the road outside of the administration - find a parking legal bay or use the Kiss and Drive.
- If you DO Not have an ACROD Permit please don’t use the disabled bays.
- Ciaran Centre Families are the only families welcome to use the front administration parking.
- DO NOT park at the Servite Friars house of residence and business - this is private property.
I do ask that families don’t use the Acrod Bays unless they have permit - we now have a large number of families that need these bays and recently have not been able to access these. Ciaran Centre families are more than welcome to use the bays at the front of the school as well.
Parking - Servite Friars and School
Just a reminder about parking to ensure that St Kieran families only park in the required designated areas. Please don’t park at the Servite Friars, including on their lawn and please don’t park in the Servite Staff areas. Servite College will be checking these areas and issuing reminder notices on cars that are not staff cars. Can you please give this your full attention as we need to be respectful of our neighbours.
Servite College
Just a reminder to all of our St Kieran families you must get your children's applications into Servite College nice and early. Please don’t wait until Year 5, as it will be too late we would suggest getting the applications in before Year 4. While St Kieran and Servite have a great relationship and are very close, parents still need to submit a separate enrolment application to Servite College. Please make sure you are organised nice and early with this enrolment process. If you have any questions please feel free to us in the office.
St Kieran Enrolments 2025
We have a very limited number of positions available in some year levels. Please contact the administration office for further details.
Students Leaving St Kieran
Can you please let the school know as soon as possible if your children are moving on from St Kieran in 2024. We currently have families on our wait lists and would like to accommodate as many people as possible. Please note a terms notice should be given in order to not be charged any subsequent fees.
School Uniform
As we come to the end of the 2024 and to keep reminding all parents that for the academic uniform the below shoes are to be worn - black lace up school shoes for both boys and girls. I would ask all parents to refer to the Uniform Policy on our school website. https://stkierancps.schoolzineplus.com/_file/media/2012/school_uniform_guidelines_2024.pdf

Interschool Athletics Carnival
On Thursday the 24th of October the St Kieran Interschool Athletics team competed in the CPSSA ‘A’ Division Carnival at the WA Athletics Stadium. It was a perfect day for our students to show their track and field event talents. There were some terrific individual achievements on the day with plenty of students placing in the top 4 in their events. Our leaderball teams also were outstanding with the Year 3s coming 1st and Year 4, 5 and 6 all finishing in the top 4.
Congratulations to the following students who received a medal for finishing in the top 3 overall for their age group.
- Callum (Year 3) 1st place
- Jordan (Year 3) 2nd place
- Rock (Year 4) 3rd place
- Eliza (Year 4) 1st place
- Layla (Year 6) 2nd place
St Kieran finished in 6th place on the day, which means we will remain in ‘A’ division for next year.
